NWEA MAPS is a personalized assessment tailored to each individual student’s learning level. MAPS (Measures of Academic Progress) was developed by the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) to precisely measure student progress and growth over time.
Aurora Public Schools uses the MAPS exam as a way to track individual student progress starting in the 9th grade. It can be administered in an easy, quick online format multiple times throughout the year to show more data points and growth. The exam will be administered in the Fall, Winter, and Spring.
Students are not able to opt-out of this exam as it is a diagnostic, district test.
