I have 3 passions that initially led me to become a teacher and continue to be my driving forces: youth, the English language/literature, and a lifelong love of learning. After finishing my Bachelors of Arts in Literature at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington, I went on to finish my Masters in Education, also at Whitworth. My parents had moved to Denver several years before and in visiting them, I absolutely fell in love with Colorado. I decided to try my luck, packed up my life, and moved to this wonderful state.

I was hired at Aurora Central High School that year teaching 9th grade Literacy and English Language Development. During my time at Central I absolutely fell in love with the students and really cherished the diversity that I found in Aurora Public Schools. When I learned about Vista PEAK, I became increasingly excited about the vision for the school and the passion within the administration. Having taught at Vista PEAK since its very beginning, there is a genuine excitement for progressive education and individualized success for all students that is contagious.

When I’m not teaching, I love being outside in the outdoors year around and coach Middle School Track and High School Girls Tennis here at Vista PEAK. Currently teaching 10th Grade Literacy and Creative Writing, I am thrilled to be a part of the team here at Vista PEAK as a teacher and coach and look forward to the future of this amazing place.
